Montbrió is a village situated in the Baix Camp county, in the southern side of Catalunya, just in the middle of the plane of the Camp de Tarragona.

The inhabited centre is about 6 Km from the Mediterranean coast, and 5 Km. from the Prelitoral Catalana Mountain Range. There are 1.400 inhabitants, and it is at a height of 130 metres over the sea level.

The weather is temperate. The Winter and Summer seasons are mild and good, and the days are shiny, clear and brightly. The most characteristic meteorological phenomena is the wind that blows from the Northwest, which is called "serè". It clears out the atmosphere, and turns it into a dark blue colour, very intensive and without any remains of pollution. Montbrió still offers some dishes of the ancient cook, although they are only supplied in reduced areas. Some of them can be considered as gastronomical relics.
