Successive dynasties which reigned over the country deeply influenced Tunisia and it can still be felt nowadays.

Tunisia is renowned for the expansion of its cities such as Carthage which gradually enjoys a boom, such as other Mediterranean regions.

The region has experienced a period of prosperity, Africa becoming Rome’s main supplier of agricultural products. A lot of ancient ruins can be visited.

Nowadays, Tunisia is famous for its craft industry which is very specific in terms of regions: one may be specialized in pottery, the other may be expert in ironworks instead. The country also produces massively cereals, olives, dates, citrus fruits, and sea foods. On the botanic side, you may enjoy the glamorous jasmine flower – new emblem of Tunisia.

Tunisian cuisine is refined and mainly based on vegetables, lamb, beef, camel (in some regions), fish and above all, along the sea shore – pasta.
